Happy but time consuming
By David
Overall all we are happy with this tree. It is well made and easy to assemble with a ladder. It takes forever to spread(bend) the smaller branches out so the tree looks full. I suggest wearing gloves during the process. I know that is the case with any artificial tree.

Love this tree, especially compared to the North Valley Spruce!
By Jackie
I bought this tree a couple of weeks ago, and it was my second attempt at finding a nice, full 9ft. tall Christmas tree. At times, my review will focus on the differences between the two trees that I purchased and set up. Originally, I purchased the National Tree Company North Valley Spruce (http://www.amazon.com/National-Tree-Valley-Spruce-NRV7-300-90/dp/B0024FEXNO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384532298&sr=8-1&keywords=national+tree+company+9+ft+north+valley+spruce+hinged+tree+with+700+clear+lights+nrv7+300+90), which was about $100 cheaper than this tree at the time ($279), because of rave reviews here on Amazon. The North Valley Spruce was much lower quality and had about half as many branch tips as this tree. Despite all the fluffing in the world, there were many bare spots on the NV Spruce. It wasn't what we were looking for, and my poor husband kindly agreed to package the NV Spruce back up and return it for me. After reading reviews of last year's model of this Dunhill Fir, I decided to take the plunge and try again. I did not buy this on Amazon because I had gift cards to use at other stores, but I think the current price is a decent one for mid-November (~$380). The same tree at Home Depot is currently $409 +tax.
Anyways, the tree itself is absolutely gorgeous. Despite the tree not yet being decorated, everyone that has seen it has been blown away. Assembling and lighting the tree was extremely easy. The directions are great. It did take me a LONG time to fluff this tree (about 2 hours), but that is because 1) I did it alone and 2) there are many, many small branches and the branches actually extend almost all the way to the base of the tree. It is worthwhile to fluff these small branches because it gives the tree a nice, full look. This is a stark contrast to the NV Spruce, in which the branches only extended halfway, or less, down each larger branch. The hinges on the Dunhill Fir also seem to be more sturdy than the hinges on the NV Spruce. I have one very minor complaint about the Dunhill Fir: I wish they had put more branches in the midsection of the tree. There are so many branches near the tops and bottoms that I felt the middle could have used more branches, but it still looks great! This is probably a difference between this tree, at $380, and a more expensive (~$800 tree). I can't see the wall behind the tree, so that is a plus. Overall, I highly recommend the Dunhill Fir tree. I paid $100 more than I would have had I kept the NV Spruce, but I believe this one looks much nicer and will last us for many years.
PS - Like the other reviewer, I also recommend wearing gloves to fluff this tree. I initially started fluffing without them and my arms and hands were getting small cuts because of the needles. I'd also recommend starting the fluffing process closer to the center pole and working your way out.

Beautiful tree.

I love this tree and it got rave reviews from holiday party guests! It's full and looks "real"! Worth the expense as it'll last for many years to come.
